Russ Newberg, M.P.A.

Coordinator

Russ Newberg‘s desire to serve the public has been a guiding force in his educational and professional pursuits. He has worked for local governments in Southern Arizona, including the Town of Oro Valley, Pima County, the City of Tucson, and the Downtown Tucson Partnership.

Russ joined Canyon Ranch Institute in May 2011 as administrative coordinator. Canyon Ranch Institute, a 501(c)3 non-profit public charity, catalyzes the possibility of optimal health for all people by translating the best practices of Canyon Ranch and our partners to help educate, inspire, and empower every person to prevent disease and choose a life of wellness.

As administrative coordinator, Russ assists with partnership development, project management, and, grant applications. He also supports program managers and conducts internet research related to grants and other Canyon Ranch Institute activities.

Russ earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies with an emphasis in public agency service from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Russ enjoys the outdoors and spends his weekends canyoneering in Arizona’s rugged terrain. He also likes basketball, working on art projects, and spending time with friends and family.
