Canyon Ranch Institute Life Enhancement Program
Core Program Elements
The Canyon Ranch Institute Life Enhancement Program (CRI LEP) is a powerful experience designed to help participants make an enduring personal connection to a life of wellness. While all CRI LEPs share a common set of core foundational and program elements, each CRI LEP is unique and adapted to meet the cultural, geographic, linguistic, and health realities of each community.
CRI LEP Foundational Elements
The foundational elements that are essential to the success of each CRI LEP include:
- Embracing a starting point and outlining a change process.
- Articulating the goals and expectations of the program in order to instill a sense in each participant that he or she has a stake in the outcomes.
- Ensuring that participating program staff at all levels understand, support, and engage in the program's philosophy and design.
- Working with program participants to define their starting point, share their history, and discuss their lifestyle habits.
CRI LEP Core Program Elements
The core program elements ensure that each partnership remains true to the CRI LEP approach to integrative health and optimal wellness and the best practices of health literacy. These core program elements focus on self-discovery, preventive care, and positive lifestyle habits, so that individuals and communities can make a personal connection to their own health and wellness.
Each of the core program elements is outlined below in terms of philosophy, topics to address, and possible accompanying activities. The CRI LEP Program Guide for participants and accompanying CRI LEP Facilitator Manual go into greater detail in regard to implementing the CRI LEP.
